The proposal treats the Tsuen Wan Bypass and its requisite noise barrier as a single geometric form - both a static structure and a dynamic spatial experience. Set within the dramatic landscape of Tsuen Wan and the New Territories, the structure unfolds as a sinuous form that shifts from open to closed, transparent to opaque, and planted to reflective steel, depending on programmatic needs. These transitions can be subtle or abrupt, but a consistent geometric principle and construction method unify the entire length of the structure.
Visible from ground level and nearby towers, the structure is designed to appear as a coherent, evolving form. Its visual impact from outside the carriageway is crucial due to its proximity to adjacent developments and public spaces. While the carriageway-facing side is structurally plain, the outward face features a carefully designed lattice of polished steel and lush planting - offering both a macro-level geometric expression and a richly detailed public surface.
