Golf Road
Golf Road
Located on one of Ballater's oldest streets, this new build house is designed to sit sympathetically within the surrounding streetscape to the north, while maximising views of the golf course toward the River Dee to the south.
Spaces associated to the house's three key functions (garage, working, and living) are distributed north to south across the length of the site, increasing in scale and privacy as the building opens up to exploit views of the landscape. These masses are capped and made cohesive by three 'folded' grass roofs with large projecting eaves, while glazing is used to express the gaps between the building's forms.
