Brussels Palace of Justice

Brussels Palace of Justice

Brussels, Belgium
This proposal re-imagines the Law Courts of Brussels - at one time the largest building in the world - by treating its massive, void-filled structure as a terrain for new activity. At its core, the conceptual plan introduces a 17-year rolling maintenance cycle - reflecting the building’s original construction period—to preserve the structure. Alongside this, a parallel reprogramming cycle invites citizens to propose and vote on new public uses for spaces as they are refurbished, turning the building into a continuously evolving civic forum for community-led initiatives.
