The project comprises a single-storey rear extension and a newly excavated basement beneath a Maida Vale villa. Developed through close analysis of the clients’ living patterns and shared needs, the scheme creates new gallery-quality space to house art, alongside a self-contained suite for a housekeeper.

The reconfigured plan includes a new kitchen and dining area, as well as a swimming pool, spa/gym, study, and library. Key to the design is the introduction of natural light and ventilation to the basement through carefully positioned light wells and adapted side windows, ensuring a bright and comfortable lower level.

The rear extension is conceived as a crisp, modern addition - elegant in form and detail - constructed in white-rendered blockwork and glass to complement the existing fabric.
